How to make fig ice cream

I've got to give this a try, have lots of ripe figs now. I was told it was "awesome".
Would you like some fig ice cream?

Here's our recipe:

Ingredients:

1 lbs (about 500 grams) ripe fresh figs (any variety)
1/3 cup water
1 cup sugar
3 cups heavy cream
1.5 cups whole Milk
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract.
Zest of one Lemon

1. Remove the stems from the figs and chop them, then place them in a medium pot.

2. Add water and 1/2 cup sugar and stir over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the figs are very tender. (about 10 mins)

3. Let the fig mixture cool, and mix in blender. Then Place in a fridge for at least 1 hour.

4. In a medium pot mix the heavy cream, milk, and the remaining 1/2 cup sugar over low heat for about 5 minutes.

5. Allow the mixture to cool in the fridge for about an hour.

6. Place figs and cream mixtures in the ice cream machine and add the vanilla extract. Follow Ice cream machine instruction.
