Pollination at work :)

so... last Friday I decided to stop by at Church Parking Lot Capri trees and collect some pollen loaded Capri Figs with wasps (Blastophaga Grossorum) and introduce new wasp colony to my fig trees.
Happy to find out that all was perfectly falling in place with my planning, I delivered the Capri Figs and new Wasp colony to the premises where my (by now) close to 300 fig varieties are resting...until it's time to move to Final Destination "Los Angeles Fig Forest".

Took my time to strategically place the Capries under each group of trees and by the time I was done I noticed something that brought me to tears. First I felt shock of surprise then unexplained anger which quickly was taken over by relief and joy.

After carefully examining the fig trees I found out they already had been visited by the busy workers, the local wasps in the area...this meant they were there all the time from the time I moved them to rest before the final move. The evidence was that at the time of their entry to the figs, they left their precious wings behind at the entrance of Ostiole. I was not surprised a bit but still was pleased and full of joy.

This made my day.

I hope I didn't bore you too much ...LOL
