The "Holt" fig.
The tree has a very vigorous, upwards growing habit but can easily be managed by persistently trimming the first years of it's life.
For now I named it "Holt" , after the street the mother tree was located on.
This Common, medium to large fig is an un-identified variety that I found in Los Angeles, in Jewish neighborhood.
This light green fig with touch of Bronze outside and bright pink interior has a very sweet taste and aromatic (floral) flavor. It has a thin skin that peels easily when ripe. It's beautiful pink pulp has very few seeds which provide some crunch when caprified.
